You're 100% correct.Wow, tons of misinformation going on here.
-E36 M3 Luxury package cars (coupe, convertible, or sedan) came with sport seats that *did not* have M-stripes on them.
-E36 M3 sedans and convertibles (non-lux) came with sport seats that *did* have M-stripes on them.
-E36 M3 coupes (non-lux) came with vaders. All vaders have M-stripes on them.
To the best of my knowledge, I don't believe there is a way to tell from pictures whether or not these seats were shipped in an M3 from the factory. M3s came with Nappa leather (with the exception of the leather credit seats that were described above). But who cares? The sport seats that came in the base 3 are the same shape, and clearly the higher quality nappa that the M3's were loaded with is no longer an issue on seats with this kind of wear and tear.
Maybe the base 3 headrests were slightly different? The ones on these seats don't seem to match.
I had an E36 M3 w/ Lux Interior, Black Nappa Leather, No M Striping.
Basically the only way I would know if they are in fact M3 Lux seats is in the leather. Nappa leather feels miles apart from the regular leather on the E36.
Bump for some really comfortable seats -Steven

there is so much misinformation in this thread.......
If these seats are from a M3, they are luxury package seats and worth the same as any e36 sport seat as they are identical to any non-m E36 sport package car. Stripes were absent on lux package M3s and these are clearly not vaders (from a coupe)Comment
