You know, you can't actually ship the airbag and remain within the bounds of law.

I wasn't aware of that. The bag is disengaged so I don't see how it can be considered hazardous. I guess we'll find out when I ship it.

Is it still for sale? and how is the stitching at the top of the wheel, is it coming loose from the core? Also, does it feel spongy at all anywhere? And what year is the airbag itself from?

It's still an explosive as far as shippers are concerned. Many people ship them anyway and don't disclose it. If I were you I would sell the wheel and do the bag local only. As a buyer should be able to find one nearby or use the existing one from their car (as no sane person is retrofitting SRS).

It is still for sale, however I have a couple of people interested in it right now. One would like to pick it up from bimmerfest which means no shipping! As for the wheel itself it's in great condition, no spongy feeling along the wheel. I'll take more photos and PM you. Keep in mind I like the idea of not having to pay shipping!
