    FS: Turner S50 chip (HFM/flywheel)

$230 shipped (save $30 over Turner).

Picked this up to see if it would perform any better than the shitty AA chip I have with the 2.8. Car ran a lot better, but sucked much more gas than I was expecting (yes, I knew it was for a larger motor). No flaws, pins are still in mint condition, and nothing has been tampered with.

It's tuned for the 3.0L S50 with the 3.5" HFM and a lightweight flywheel (bumps up the idle to ~750). Is for 413 DME. No EWS.

Jeremy, run the chip, but plug in a set of 17lb injectors. Probably better than AA's pre-packaged custom crap

It wouldn't overwork the injectors? What about 19#ers?

17lb injectors = stock S50, right? (Or is it 19lbs) Use the green tops, what ever they are rated at.

If the chip is programmed for green tops, try it with green tops. Don't some HFM chips require 24# injectors?

If BMW put green tops onto a 3.0L (w/ slightly higher comp than a 2.8L), you're not going to over work them on a 2.8L with similar cams. Pick up a set and experiment. Be sure to get them cleaned too. Might work better than the AA set up.

Toddly, do you think I'd see any gain/loss with the 17#/Turner chip? I know it'd run a shit load better, which would be worth it anyways.

I agree with Toad. Here's my suggestion:
              First, run 17# injectors
              Second, get an adjustable FPR
(Aeromotive makes a reallly nice one for about $110) http://www.aeromotiveinc.com/listing.php?cat=2
Spend an afternoon hooking up the FPR.
Set it for 48-50psi. When you dump the throttle,
it will go to 58psi and kick you in the ass.
When at part-throttle, you're running less fuel pressure than stock and
get gas mileage out the wazoo (I get 28-30 on the highway with 3.0L, but still 235 to the wheels)
Then dyno it to see where your A/F is at, and adjust with the regulator as necessary.

Sweetness, I think I'll do that then. Thanks Stu.

Hmm, I might have to get a AFPR.....

Probably one of the more technical Classified threads :D

Which one do I get? I don't understand all that technical jargon.
