Nice work, I own a leather company and would like to offer some advice on thread: use bonded nylon T138, he is snapping thread because it is not made to handle this work. It is clear from the photos the threading is thin, all of my work is done with a double pass of T69 or 70 or single passes of T138. I am all about helping other leather artists out! he is doing a solid job.
This is just advice, please don't take it the wrong way! I have covered a wheel before but it is honestly not worth my time to branch into this market.~ Puch Cafe. ~ Do business? feedback ~ Check out my leather company ~

The thread that was being snapped was a different thread than what is in these pictures and was used in the very early/ experimental stages of learning to do the wheels. The current thread appears thin but is very strong and has had no issues. Could you pm me your contact info?Nice work, I own a leather company and would like to offer some advice on thread: use bonded nylon T138, he is snapping thread because it is not made to handle this work. Just to clarify for anyone wanting to get their wheel recovered, we use T69 polyester thread that is used in almost all automotive leather applications. We have had no problems with strength or durability.Last edited by MissRay; 11-03-2014, 09:55 AM.Comment
