Somehow, I feel like the wraps should be tighter. Or is it just me?

I'm seeing a few wrinkles, I think that's what he's talking about. It just looks like the leather could be stretched a little to better conform to the contours of the wheel.

My MT1 wheel needs to be recovered, so I'll be following this thread.

That e46 m3 wheel was the first padded wheel we did and yes it could have been pulled tighter.

But a large part of what you see "wrinkled" in the other pictures is the texture of the leather itself.

The leather on this wheel, for example, could not have been pulled any tighter.

If your remove the texture aspect from the material used, you can see that the material is perfectly tight.

            See here:

I will admit that the e46 wheel could have been tighter, but we definitely learned from that experience. That was an experimental wheel ;).

Just wanted to add that the leather will shrink and smoothen out with time and use. This is a brochure, take a look at the leather on the wheel then go look at the leather on your wheel. Of course this is from 2+ decades of use and time, but even in a month this leather smooths out and shrinks.

Can you do any wheel or only certain oem ones? Do you have cores that you can just sell complete recovered steering wheels?

We can do any wheel. Not at the moment, but we will probably get some mtech 1 cores at some point.

A bit of an odd question, but would you have any interest in leather repair on a wheel? What I mean is use some of the original leather and patch bald spots? There is a specific reason for the request, not sure there is any interest in doing such a thing though.

I'd have to post pics of some original leather once it is pulled off. It just wouldn't work out.
