    Slick top roof skin

I'm getting ready to part out a 318is slick top and I'm wondering if there's any interest in saving the roof skin for somebody since realoem lists it as NLA . It's in good condition, only one little ding. Includes the headliner if you want, in very good condition still. I'm not sure how to price it, but I don't want to give it away either.

I'm talking about the entire roof structure of the car. It would require cutting off the roof of your car and welding. Most e30s came with a sunroof, but some '90-91 318is were available without it, and some people desire such an e30s for the weight savings. I mention the headliner since it's a different piece that covers the entire ceiling with no provision for the sunroof opening.

I don't know, I'm thinking around $200? I figure that's minimum what a salvage yard, at least ones I've been to, will charge for cutting a major body panel. And yes, shipping will be a pain, but I am willing to help the buyer figure out one way or another how to get it to them.

Any more serious interest in this? I've got three whole days to finally start tearing the car apart and hope to have it cut off by the end of the weekend. Think anybody on s14.net would be interested?

I would jump on this, but getting it to Utah seems like it would be next to impossible.

Most E30's in the States did. In Europe it's just the opposite having a sunroof is a rare item.

You are, just take the QEW to the 403, to the 401 next is the 402. Puts you in Port Sarnia. Drove out to Michigan twice last year and traveling via Canada is 3 hours shorter.

you might want to make sure you not only save the roof but also the headliner and that black front panel were the visors go on

I payed for my slick top 120-140 and had to drive 3 hours one way to pick it up. Headliner and visor panel was included.
so I think 200 is very reasonable
Its p.i.t.a. to de-skin your car and prep old slick top skin, but that's the only right way to loose ~50lbs from highest spot in your car.

I would leave it on the car, we have had a couple slick top roofs waiting years for somebody with balls enough to put it on their car nobody wants to pay shipping on a roof or cut their own off it seems

I need to get the car out of my driveway. It is rusted bad underneath so I am pulling the the drive train and interior and scrapping the shell. I have no problem storing the roof until someone needs it. However I will be keeping the headliner.

I've had the roof cut off for a few months now, just stored on my back patio under a tarp. Somebody can have it for free if they want to come and pick it up. If somebody wants it shipped I will charge a handling fee since I will have to go thru the hassle of borrowing a truck and trying to get securely packaged.

I can throw some pics up if somebody wants. Also, does not come with the headliner.
