JB Racing 24V LTW 10lb flywheel

OE replacement flywheel (uses same clutch kit as standard m50)

    part # 520-020-228 - 228mm 10lb flywheel

listed as compatible with e36 m50 and e34 m50. would work great on a 24v swap even on s50 engines.

great condition, very little to no rust from storage. Ready to use.

$630 list price, and Im firm at $285 shipped

for an extra $50 I can include a good working starter.

they all have the same bolt pattern and use the same tranny so I dont see why not?

stock s50 and s52 are 240mm clutchs but people use m20 clutch with s50 often with no problems and thats a 228mm so I assume this would work great with an s50!

Directly from JBR site. Not sure this wold fit S50 engines, they use 240mm clutch, not 228 according to JBR's site...

        Fitment:
        1992 - 99 E36 320i w/ M50, M52 - 6 cyl.
        1989 - 95 E36 325i, is w/ M50, M52 2.5L - 6 cyl.

Edit: Appears as though it works only for early model E36s with M50 or M52. See the site. A great price for what it is OP, GLWS

That's what I was looking at. I'm interested but I would want it to work with the S52. Though, if it works with an M52, I would swear it should with the S52 as well.

              This is for ZF310/ZF320 & G250 trans I believe. Engine doesn't care.

you guys are overthinking this so much.

if you can use a M20 FLYWHEEL on a s52 with a getrag 260... why coudlnt you use this? it is made to bolt up zf310s (same as zf320) and getrag 250s found in e34s and e36. This is made to use the stock clutch for the car making buying parts or the clutch setup a no brainer

engine doesnt care, Ian is right.

I have this a JB fly on my s52, you need a spring clutch. Not the stock self adjusting nonsense
See, and this is the kind of stuff that makes me feel dumb. I already have a LTW M20 flywheel and E34M5 clutch kit, and I have no idea if it'll work with my S52. I don't want to go out and buy something else and have that also not work.

Someone said I can use an M20 starter and be good to go, but until I open the box and physically try, no idea, and at that point I have $800 worth of clutch parts I might not be able to resell if it doesn't work.

                    I have 1 on my s52.

The m52 ones has raised edges. I believe it's wider

                    Edit somehow my comment deleted.

I called JB before I ordered mine. They Recommend, an upgraded clutch. Not stock. To help reduce noise etc

Ok newbs and misinformers im gonna put this to rest. A 228mm flywheel will work with a 228mm clutch disc and pressure plate which is what came stock size for an e30 with g260 and some other cars. E36 and up including all e34s use a 240mm clutch disc. You cant really exchange the two disc and flywheel sizes. I mean i suppose you could get away with a 228mm disc on a 240 flywheel but thats just retarded. As far as will it work with a 24v swap. It should work just fine with a 24v swap so long as you use the correct starter matched to the ring gear on the flywheel. Generally speaking this is done by using an e30 starter on an m/s50 or m/s52 so long as the ring gears match the starter gear. You can make an e36 starter work with a 228mm flywheel that i know of and seeing as they are 240mm setups i highly doubt its possible hence why i havent stupidly tried it. I have gone through some ring gear swaps on a jb flywheel trying to figure out which one matches a particular starter. Best bet is have a known working starter for the gear or swap a known starter with matched ring gear put onto the flywheel.
