Will this fit an 88 with metal US bumpers?

Mounting the rear apron will be difficult, with the diving board bumper shrouds in place. These parts are correct for an '88 and later car, though, they were intended for a car with plastic bumpers.

It's a good excuse to remove the diving boards :)
