I have a parts car up for sale. It's an 1989 325is that was running and driving beautifully until the front drivers corner ended up in a telephone pole.
Damage isn't HORRIBLE but it's more then I feel like dealing with. It might be repairable, it may be only good for parts. Drivers door opens fine, passengers door needs a good deal of effort (But it's kinda always been like that, might just need an adjustment, who knows) There is a crease by the strut tower in the fender, and a fair ammount of damage to the very very front corner.
The motor has around 232k on it but runs strong. Currently has brand new plugs/wires/cap/rotor and did a valve cover gasket as well as a valve adjustment a few weeks ago. Transmission is fine. Rear end is fine but I dunno the rear gearing because the tag is corroded.
There's a lot of good parts on the car. Tires still have alot of tread. Some notible parts that can be salvaged:
-Brand new control arms (2 months)
-E36 rack swap (the 3.2turn version) with hose and steering linkage modified for E30, Only been on the car 3 weeks. I used E36 tie rods.
-Good power steering pump
-Good alternator
-Borla catback exhaust
-Valve cover painted black, polished letters.
-Good glovebox with lock and key
-Perfect driverside US ellipsoid
-Car will come with a random assortment of relays, window switches, headlight switches, rear window latches and other misc pieces as well as brand new belts and another oil filter.
-Good doors, perfect glass and windshield.
-Cluster needs an SI board but in it's current form the only thing bad is the coolant temp gauge. Fuel gauge, speedo and tach all work perfect.
-Rear CV's look like they were replaced by the previous owner. I could not verify but they are very new looking.
-Near perfect OE roundels.
The car in it's current condition still starts, runs and drives very well. Just has a fucked up front corner Coolant system wasn't touched so it doesn't overheat. Idles funny at the moment cause the canister was crushed so there's a vacuum leak. It was driven 30mins home after the accident with no issues what so ever and it WILL drive onto a trailer or would even make it 30 mins to an hour if you're fairly local.
I would have no issues dropping this drivetrain into another 3 series. I actually wanted to keep the drivetrain of the car and put it into a two seat toy/track car but, my budget does not allow that kind of project at the moment and the city is yelling at me to get the car off my property.
Selling the entire parts car for $700. I really don't feel like taking the time to dismantle the car and part it out piece by piece (which would probably net a lot more cash) So I'd prefer to sell the entire car. Like I said, it will start and drive right onto your trailer or if local, right to your house. If there's no interested I guess I'll be forced to sell the car to a yard so I can get it out.
