OBD1 S52 with 72k miles in Boston, MA CHEAP $2000!

This motor came to me in a 93 325is that a co-worker built years ago. It has passed around between friends and family for the past 7 years, and the most recent owner lost his license so he brought it to my co-worker, the mechanic who built it, to see if he could get some quick cash for it. He didnt have the cash but I did so I bought it, and it turns out the body is worse than I thought (torn diff mount, suspect wiring, etc) so I'm just going to be parting it out

OBD1'ed 98 S52 with 72k. Motor was swapped in years ago while obd2 was new and our knowledge of proper clean swaps has progressed a little over the years. The goal of the OBD1 swap was to make the car run because there was no other way around ews2 when these cars were new, not for the extra ponies up top people look for today.

it's an s52 with m50 manifold, no ASC tbody, 93 m50 harness and 413 dme. It runs on this setup and runs well actually but it should have a 3.2 chip burned for the dme, it just has a racing dynamics 2.5 vanos chip now. With the motor out of the car I would either T or tap the coolant sensor area and tidy up some of the vacuum and crank breather connections under the manifold, get a 3.2 chip burned for the 413 and it's ready to drop into an e30.

Needs a "T" for coolant temp sensor (obd1 harness has 2 plugs, obd2 head only has one dual sensor), or it needs the head drilled and tapped. I will be doing a compression check later on today but the motor feels good and strong, it has a vacuum leak from a loose dipstick. It had a surging idle that a new idle valve took care of. It has a check engine light because it's running without the proper double coolant temp setup like I said above.

If someone is local and wants the motor as-is in a hurry I'd take $2000 FIRM assuming compression test checks out. I will take videos of it running but if someone wants to hear it for themselves hurry, because I'll be yanking it soon.

That would include engine, manifolds, all accessories, and 93 harness. add $200 for the 413 dme, i have another 95 m3 with a bad dme but good chip that it would be useful for.

The cluster was taken from the crashed car that the motor came out of and reads 72k and change. I have no reason to believe this is not the true mileage of the motor, the guy who built the car is my co-worker and didn't lie about anything else before I bought the car and would have no reason to.

Note: in pictures there's no air filter cuz I took it to see if it would fit in my e30 turbo car, it wasn't run that way.

I have the ZF tranny with 10 miles on a new dealer clutch too if you want to work out a package deal.

swapped plugs with cheap 1 prong br6ek's i had laying around and swapped out some scorched smelling coils with bad boots for good ones and she purrs.

I ran a compression test and while very consistant the #'s were low. Today I'm gonna test another good motor with my tool to see if my gauge is flaky or if this motor really does have low compression. #'s were all around 105-110, but like I said this seems off to me because of how strong the motor runs, so let me compression check another s52 in my bro's m3 and see what my tool reads on that.
