Hey Court, got your pm thank you very much!
Main bearing was what the "professional speculation" i paid for came up with, so thats why im under that impression.Originally posted by madjurgenWtf. First of all how did you spin a main brg? How do you know its a main and not a rod brg, which is infinitely easier to spin?
When I first heard the knock I nursed it back home approximately 2 miles. It's not like I take it out to run to mcdonalds or somethin like that. Curb your sarcasm ignorant sob..Originally posted by madjurgenWow, just wow, youve been running it after you spun the bearing? That sounds like a smart thing to do.
I'm no teenager. I poured every ounce of money I had into that car to maintain it before it broke. So sorry I couldn't afford a $15k M3, but who are you to pass judgement like this? I posted how much I bought my car for as a point of reference for this thread, not so you could make fun of my income. How about you get the fuck out of my FS thread and go big dick someone else with your internet ego.. jesus.Originally posted by madjurgenAll in all, a classic example of why teenagers shouldnt buy e30M3s, especially ones that cost 7.5k.
And obviously a $1700 S14 would need some work, but the motors so cheap that I would have money left over to do some maintenance if in fact it was a good runner.. maybe it's a steal and it's actually a great motor, who knows! It's worth looking into at least instead of assuming it sucks. You assume a lot.
So sorry guys, just really pisses me off when someone thinks they know everything, seems like he was going out of his way to put me down when all I'm trying to do is get my car back on the road.
Back OT..Last edited by aaronmjr; 02-11-2007, 09:58 AM.Leave a comment:

all i need is the block and head. i want to take my time and build a 2.5 in my spare time to drop into my 02 in a year or 2. no rush but if i come acrosss the right deal ill grab it. let me know what youre thinking for price. it would be nice since youre local toohey dude! i guess it depends on the price i could get for it, i was plannin on takin the bottom end apart this summer and either doing the bearings myself or partin the motor. It still runs/drives but it has a bad knock!
I guess the only other thing i would be thinkin about is that if i end up buying a long block only i would need all the accessories (intake plenum/valve cover/throttle bodies/header/alternator etc.)
What kind of timeline were you looking at? Good to hear from ya!!!Leave a comment:

The prices are one thing I'm def aware of ;) been watching FS ads for these things since my bearing spun over 2 years ago.
thanks for your input and have a great day!
Funkmasta: Spun a main bearing, figure once i tear the motor apart to repair it (if its repairable, i dont know how much damage is inside) with all the cost associated Id be better off finding a good runner to do some preventative maintenance on.
