I'm hoping to have our 24 Hours of LeMons racer out on the track again next year and one upgrade I'd like to make this time around is wider tires. The 195/60/14 RT615s have done us well but wider is better. So I'm looking for some wider wheels on a LeMons budget. 15x7 or 16x7 would be great. Condition and weight are fairly irrelevant as long as they are still functional. I'd buy the TR wheels from Tire Rack, but I want two sets and I don't feel like spending $800 on wheels alone.
Since most bigger 4x100 wheels are higher offset, I'll probably need some spacers in the 15-20 mm range. I already have long studs.
Other parts needed:
-Cheap ellipsoid headlights to use for HID conversion
-Race springs? The car has some Eibach springs on it that we got from the junkyard but the car's body roll tells me we need some stiffer springs (and/or a 21mm front sway bar?)
-Upgraded rear subframe bushings
We've got several months until our next race, so no rush but I wanted to put a feeler out. We aim to spend as little money as possible due to the rule and spirit of the race series.
