I ordered a set of m3 Cab's from the dealer where i work. They were in Germany when ordered and Germany only showed as having like 4 sets left. When they showed up they had 'Grounp N' stamped on the box in a couple places. Not really important but thought it was cool.
I figured i would try to use a little left over Windsheild Urethane on the bushings just to see how they held up before installing the new bushings. Its been almost a year and the car feels great and Urethane has shown no signs of cracking/weakness at all. At first i never really would of considered this, but since i had a new set waiting to go in I figured why not. I am all for doing this if you want something on the cheap. Just do it with quality components. And in the Auto Industry there really isnt a better/stronger/longer lasting adhesive then urethane. Especially since it drys to the consistency of a softer rubber.

I have no problems with the use of that stuff. I know i'll probably get flamed for it but I was bored awhile back put 3M Window Weld (same thing pretty much) in my d.d. civic's totally shot motor mounts. Took a whole day to cure but the difference was night and day. Its an effective way to stiffen up any mount like our CAB or whatever.Leave a comment:

You guys are all a bunch of spoiled brats. When I started working on e30s, we didn't have Liquid Nails. We had to us REAL NAILS to fill the gaps in the bushings. An then we had to drive to school uphill both ways.

lol. a pissing match about hack repairs. I should have expected it.
in all seriousness, though, that polyurethane goop probably works pretty well.Leave a comment:

You guys are crazy. Gorilla glue and liquid nails are NOT equivalent to the EXACTLY (more or less) 75D POLYURETHANE that I used. If you're going to do a hack job, then at least use properly engineered materials. Geez.Leave a comment:

liquid nail saved me from having to do subframe mounts on an E28. Worth the effort when the car was only worth $200.Leave a comment:
