I'm excited to get rid of that "torque kick" at around 4200rpm.
Anyone actually know why the ECUs were OEM mapped this way? My '94 Benz C280 I6 (a very similar motor to the BMWs) does the very same thing.

Whoa, very nice--looking forward to that :p. This was at the crank, I assume?

    Thanks again, I'm stoked.

Mark, I sent you an email last week on the differences in the 91 and 93 octane chips. I put an order in for the 91 chip, but would probably like to change to the 93, if you haven't shipped yet.

I just started sending back refunds a few hours ago, and still have many to send out.

Very much so. Problem is I hate doing anything when it's under 15°C outside, even swapping light bulbs.
Though maybe I will install it soon after it arrives because I know I'd have an itch to try it. I've already found a second ECU so I can swap whenever needed.
If the roads stay dry I also want to do some amateur tests with each ECU.

You need to run 94 octane to get much extra torque from them, and those motors are pretty stressed as they are, plus many that I have seen are in need of a rebuild and for that reason, the results after chipping are all over the map.

damn, what do you suggest then? I need a chip to delete my EWS anyway, so one that can bump power would be nice.

I can run 98 ron which is i believe 95 right?
