I dont think anyone using bigger pistons and crank to gain more power in any engine is using it the wrong way.
I appreciate the heads up. Thanks alot guys...

The OBD2 ECU keeps much closer tabs on the crank position, and I don't think it will like having the toothwheel rubber mounted at the end of the crank vs solid mounted in the middle. I don't think the timing is the same either. (That's the big problem, because the toothwheel decoding is hard coded into the MS41)

"right way" would be leaving the proper engine in the car and not swapping anything.

or it could mean buy all new obd1 sensors - since slapping on used shit is only asking to do it twice.

to OP it could mean use what he has and adapt the software.

For what it's worth, I've seen an S50B30 converted to OBD-2. If that works, then updating the M50 to OBD-2 will work as well.

I see what you mean now, but not everyone has access to good yards. I'd still rather use parts that I already have and are already pulled. Instead of me fishing through junk yard's hoping the parts i'm pulling are still in good condition... I found the few trips I took to the yard to be very time consuming.

Spend $50, receive $900-1400... sounds like a smart investment to me. Just make sure the m52b25 cams are the same as your m50 cams.

It MAY be possible, but not worth it at all. If its a Vanos m50, keep the head around because its the same as your s52 head, and sell the rest for 50 bucks or something.
