Wait a sec. I thought the 528i used the M52TU with dual vanos. What's your plan for engine management?

Nice find! I'm picking up an 60k m52 next week, completely disassembled (unfortunately) but comes with complete engine, Red Label 413, OBD1 Wire Harness, ps pump, etc. All I have to do is find an e34 oil pan and OBD1 intake! It has OBD2 headers with it. $500!!

Craigslist strikes yet again for a goldmine of OBD1 parts. Found someone semi-local that has a 1994 525i that will sell me the complete engine from MAF to ECU for 300 bones. I just need to pull it. Theres another E34 pan too :)

Cool, looks like some of us are smart enough to sniff out a deal.. I went to the pick n pull again today.

We raided the 02 again. Took the front springs (blue, maybe BMP?, had BMP stickers all over and a catalog in the car still), bilstein cartridges (idk what they are, no bilstein stripe, just the sort of holographic round "bilstein quality" sticker), front grilles, 32 36 carburetor, a fat front swaybar, and a slide-the-collar adjustable fatty rear bar too.

I started looking around, and found another 525i, more complete but still missing the intake and the wiring harness was destroyed. A 92 still too, so I couldn't use the NV M50 ecu. I wrestled with the goddamn pan for a couple hours and it wouldn't come off. Finally got ahold of a friend and was informed there's the two hidden screws going up. Ahhhh! Motherfucker! No wonder! Got the pan off by yanking up the engine some, then took the pump pick up as well. I grabbed the fuel rail, and a few temp sensors, and throttle cable too, but that's about all I could harvest from that trip.

My s52 with tranny and differential was 1200.

Sold obd2 stuff/differential for about 600 total. So was a pretty good investment. =) Gj on the find. Craigslist saves e30s. =)

I didn't even think to look for the computer, but I'm going back early in the morning tomorrow again. There was a 2002 there, and me and my buddy Martin are going to go back and pull some parts. Going to check for that M50 computer too. Im going to at least grab the connector I need from it to make my own wiring adapter, and another from an e30.

Anyway, about the engine. Car was fucked up in the front as suspected. Nose was removed already too. Looks good overall, I dont think I have the intake sensor though. The fan clutch is toasted, I think the impact hit off center, which caused it to bend in one direction but it may have cushioned the internals. I think we're golden on that. Gonna buy the upper and lower gasket kit for it, and just build it up and check it's condition. No starter either, but that's cool.

    Wooho :)

i spend a lot of time in the local houston pic a part yards. i can say that at least around here, generally the first thing jacked from bmw's are the ecu's and the speedo cluster gears and tools from the trunk. with that said, last week i was over there for a look and sitting in the back was a 92 525i with ecu still intact. i wish i would have known you needed it. guaranteed to be long gone now. speaking of which, i need to get back there and take the maf plug from a 740i.

Good find. There has one local to me for 800 for quite a while...just a little bit too much for me to pull the trigger. Besides I already have a nv m50 waiting to go in still.
