Help with 24v swap

You're going to create a "comprehensive thread"? On what, how you go about your swap? Congrats, now someone with the exact same engine, chassis, budget, priorities, and parts availability will be able to read your info. And then in 3 months when it's outdated due to newer, cheaper, better fitting parts, you can steer them in the wrong direction. That's what you're missing, there is no one way to do this, every single part has pros and cons and it all depends on several other variables, that you can only figure out with a thorough understanding of this swap. The fact that you don't know what a 413 ECU is for, and don't know that you need a vanos harness for a vanos engine shows that you have NO understanding of ANYTHING regarding this swap.
The comprehensive DOHC engine swap thread.
Look, someone already did that. A "comprehensive thread". See what happens? People realize there's better ways to do things and discuss it. You read the discussion, get free info that would normally cost much more, and there's your free ride. But that's not good enough for you.
Shut up about your entrepreneur bullshit. I worked 50+ hours a week, on call for 70+ hours, while being a full student, commuting 1+ hours to school, and I did not only my own engine swaps, but engine swaps for my friends. All self taught (actually, learned by SEARCHING the forums for other generous members helpful info).
And so did many many other people on this board. You aren't doing anything incredible. Nobody cares what you've accomplished in your life. You're still living at home, while owning e46's and engine swapping e30's, I'd say you actually have nothing to brag about.
This country is going to shit. -

So you know how to jack up the car your parents bought you and change the wheels. Cool beans bro. There are kids here (myself included) that are the same age and are laughing at you.h
So call me what you want, but I know what Im good at and that is working on BMWs. And just for fun, Ill attach some pictures of before and after of my e46... Oh and dont forget, I was 16-17 when I had this car and payed for everything myself. I think Ill be just fine when it comes to working on my e30, too. :ohsnap:Leave a comment:

im only 18, completed my swap when i was 17...... learned basically everything from the internet, and trial and error....
If you cant use a search function, you will never be able to do an engine swap.
i spent days/weeks searching... in the end i still fucked up a few things, had to buy new parts and start over... thats life when doing something new...Leave a comment:

You're right I am an asshole.Woah whats with all the hate all of a sudden? I deleted the first post and I said that I would do the searching myself and get the swap done on my own. Please, when you guys see me fail, then you can rub it in my face. You guys see a young kid and 2010 join date and instantly think "hes an idiot, lets call him out"
I feel like on every BMW forum, the users like to gang up on the "noobs" and be internet assholes. Haha looks like r3v is no different. I appreciate everyone blowing up my thread, way beyond what I actually said.
I didnt "bitch and moan" about having a difficult time. I simply commented on how unorganized some, but not all, of the information is. Also, Im not going to create 'just' a parts list. It will more like the comprehensive swap thread.
But thank you for your support!
Haha!!! You are quite the asshole.
So I see you like to make assumptions based on a small amount of information. Again, like the other posters, you have said a lot of things having a very small amount of connection to any of my posts. But you have taken it way past the point of civility. Cmon dude, grow up a bit.
So I got annoyed of searching and made this thread. Doesnt mean Im a "typical dumbass teenager" or a "fucking smart ass" Never did I contradict anyones information. When you were a senior in high school, did you do an engine swap on your own? I highly doubt it. But regardless of what I actually said and what you thought I said, I KNOW that I will be able to do this engine swap on my own. Without paying anyone for information or having to take my car to a shop, all while going to school and work everyday from 7-5.

OP you're a typical dumbass teenager. Your total and utter lack of life experience makes you ignorant enough to think that you're somehow smarter than the rest of the world.
Mark my words you will have a reckoning.
When people with exponentially more knowledge about a subject than you give advice you should listen.
Don't try to be a fucking smart ass, you simply don't know what you are talking about leave it at that.
If you want to learn about how to do a swap spend more time reading the forums, the info is here and YES you do actually have to look for it.
I know you grew up in the age of instant gratification but guess what buddy you actually have to use some effort to accomplish things in real life. Offering people $20 to do your research for you is about as lazy as it gets and proves that you actually have no idea how much information you actually need to gather.
Well either that or you actually think that $20 is a substantial amount of money (just because it is your weekly allowance doesn't mean it's alot of money okay).
Bottom line: I*do*werke, DO SOME FUCKING WORK!
woah woah woah wats wrong with teenagers? :PLeave a comment:

You're going to create a thread with your parts list? Sweet. Add it to the MANY others that you would have found with a little searching.
No need to thank me for the time I put into that, since it's useless to you.
But thank you for your support!

LOL i saw this thread when it was just posted and I knew it would come to this.
I am at the end of the road that you are starting and can tell you Im still searching everyday for shit. Still finding out I ordered the wrong part the one I have needs to be modified to fit.
I dont know what your skill set is but it sounds like you should just take the car to a shop and have it done. Making a thread that started with that point might of had others offering to help.
Or you can just fucking dive in and LEARN.Leave a comment:
