Have someone keep the engine running for as long as possible while you slightly open the oil cap...Is there a large amount of vacuum trying to suck it back on to the valve cover?

That won't clear fuel trim adaptations on an BMW DME you actually need to go in with a scan tool and reset it.

              BOOYA@

now what did you do with the IX drive? e34 ix oil pan? how does it work out with the front axles that's wesome.. but an m52 is hardly worth the effort. you shoulda gone s50/2. Then again, pardon my ignorance, would the x-case be able to handle the power. that's awesome, e30 snowmobile ; |

e30 back half of oil pan, e36 front half welded together. stock e30 ix engine mount arms, tranny and t case and front diff bolt up normally.

                i went m52 for a few reasons

                1- 1/4 the price
2- low km automatic donor car(less then 100k km)
3- sourced some s52 cams and m50 intake mani for next to nothing
4- finding even half decent s52's up here is hard

There should be just a small amount of vacuum. A large amount usually indicates a failed crankcase breather...which can basically cause internal vacuum leaks. Poor running and oil consumption are also an indication! Also weird honking or an air release style of noise.

We have a specific vacuum gauge to test it.

wow that's pretty crazy. any posted work on that oil pan???

i agree with 1-4. How would the IX t-case handle the extra power?

Apparently spider gears in the front diff go first. Nowhere near S5x power though....

yeah, the front diff is the weakest link... thats an interesting idea that he did to reinforce it.. might have to look into that.

one of the few pics i have of the pan.. still in construction phase..
