So this is about my '98 328i, manual transmission. Has about 188,xxx miles on it. I know the crankcase ventilation system needs to be fixed as there is that yellow gunk visible when I take the oil cap off.
It's hesitating bad when I accelerate at low RPM. It's a steady "hiccup" until about 2100~2300 RPM, and then once it gets above that it goes away. Sometimes it seems to idle rough, too. I haven't checked the plugs or anything, I haven't learned much about the ignition system yet.
I don't know if I can hear any rattle when it idles, but it seems like it should be quieter. I'm just hoping it's not the Vanos unit.
