placing my order with AKG today. Anyone got a list of everything I should consider buying? -
You have a harness from donor engine correct? You have the harness from engine in the car already? cut off harness end on e36, splice in harness end from car or find another from a donor car so to not destroy your harness. But yes thats about it. Will need to make a few additional connections in glovebox but thats about it.Leave a comment:

Wire it yourself, it's like 13 wires plus it's good experience. Put that 200 towards a nice radiator or somethingLeave a comment:

cool. I am running the e36 m3 tranny that came stock with the s50 with a ltw flywheel and upgraded exedy clutch.
Guess I am going to place a big order today. As far as the wire harness goes, they sell a PnP connector for $200. Is it worth it, or is it easy enough to do myself?Leave a comment:

Jon, Akg poly swap mounts and oem trans with enforcer cups. Low nvh, great hookup and stockish drivability. I had poly trans mounts and it was too much for my old ass in a street car. Rear diff mount should be fine but you can prob fab up a custom dual ear mount ala randy forbes on the z3m carsLeave a comment:

Your buddy's car had some previous issues, there are tons of cars here with S5x that are fine without reinforcements. Heck, I've been running mine at AutoX and track events for a couple years with no issues whatsoever. This off season I've done reinforcements, but it's more of a preventative thing than necessity.ok good to know... Just getting it running at the moment.. so bolt on N/A s50.... then turbo.
Ill have to look into the AKG reinforcements. Weld in parts, I assume? A friend of mine had a s52 swap in an e30 m3 and he said he ripped the rear diff mount out of the car the first time he stood on the throttle.... I really dont need that to happen to me....
I believe I need the e28 Engine mounts for this application. Should I stick with oem rubber mounts, or go with a polurethane mount? Also, what is the preferred tranny mount setup for a 24v swap? THanks for taking the time to answer these n00b questions!
As to your other questions, there are mixed reviews from e28 mounts. I have run them with no issues, but after becoming a track oriented car switched to solid aluminum. Urethane will probably be better, but will increase NVH. Not as much as poly trans mounts, but you may notice. As for tranny mount setup, it depends on what tranny you're running.Leave a comment:

Jon, I run about 500whp on my E30 with just about what is listed above. I dont hammer on it though. What are your power goals? You will start killing axles and driveshafts before you kill the body unless you go the DSS route.Leave a comment:

How high power we taking? AKG front and rear subframe reinforcements on my track car. Poly subframe, trialling arm, and diff bushings. AKG sway bar reinforcements as well :)
