LOL. Neither of them are simple. The S52 is not much harder and requires about 3 extra parts.

Money is not the issue it's how much brain damage I want to encounter . seems the s50 is very simple and the s52 will tax my brain a bit more . Will the fun factor be that much better from one to the other ?

    You have that backwards.

You've caught a bunch of buzzwords, but I don't think you've really got the whole thing figured out just yet.

The S52 is a better motor. OBDI swapping is not hard. It takes an hour, if you're prepared and can solder.

Yeah, they're both 240hp stock. The S52 will pick up a lot more HP with the right software though (I sell such software)

no 333hp is the bhp of the s54

the s52 in obd2 spec mkes the sme 240hp the s50 does. with the m/s50 intke, obd1 conversion you get like 20hp or something more from the s52

your new to the forum so its ok but use the serch tool theres more on this thn youll ever need to know in the site

    started a topic s50 or s52 ?

    s50 or s52 ?

I have searched and read and my eyes are crossed !

    1989 M3 stock 410 lsd

    I can buy a complete s50 obd1 for about 3500 with trans
I can buy an s52 same deal for about 4k with trans
    then convert to OBD1
I think from what I have read this rear is not going to work so well .
what is the hp rating from engine to engine

The s50 seems like it will be a much easier swap since it' ready to install .

    I use e36 rubber mounts and e28 535 metal brackets ?
Trans mount OEM but from what car ?
Many boostyers to choice this I can handle on my own .
    Exhaust is custom
wiring I think I have figured out
ews disable chip is pro date is above 10/94?

Not looking to race the car just update the driveline the s14 is nice but not as quick as I like .

Thanks again I have searched and book marked a ton of sites these fianl opions/ answers will help alot !
Working...
