I installed an "i" cluster because I wanted a functional odo (those aftermarket gears are too expensive anyway) and a 7K tach.
I see you are selling it. Will you take $35 shipped?

I think the better question is, why is your name 90m3 and your avatar is a non m3 =P
As I used to own a (90 M3) when I signed up, or just to confuse people like you

    Here's a pic of mine - it's a standard '468 plug, just from late-late E30 production.

Why is that even out of your cluster?

when i hit 7k the thing bounces back violently and then goes back...very strange, i scared the shit out of a passenger when that happened.

i don't have the obc hooked up, could this be a reason?

what is the redline on an m50 motor?? what about with EWS delete chip?
    redline should be 6500.

Ok granet you guys were talking about an M42 engine being the 318 yes, would and one know what i would need to do if i had the 325e 2.7l motor and i only have a 5k tach. do i need to buy a new cluster or can i just wire every thing up and have it be off on RPMs for a little while im fine with that sense its winter now and i dont drive hard in the winter i just want the speedo and gas and colant gauge. If i just wire every thing up it should work and just be a smidgen off by a couple k' rmps

Hahaha! 02stu is right, you don't need to remove the cluster.

It turns out the Super Eta also has the same coding plug as the 'i'--a 468.

you don't even have to remove the cluster. Just remove the trim piece right below it and pull the plug on the right side out and snap in the 6 cycl plug. I finally got around to switching the coding plug on mine, I kinda miss the passenger's expression when I take it to 15 grand though.
