Ok so i got my motor up and running been drivng the car for about to days only about 50 or so miles on the clutch....Its an M50 out of a 94 325i into an 87 325e with a Getrag 260 stock tranny.....230k miles on my orig car.
To my knolegde its the orig tranny and hasnt beed rebuilt.
My problem is that is whines a little bit in first and second. Not too bad if it was only these two gears, I wouldnt worry about it. But when you put it into third gear it whines really bad. I would have to say along the lines of a super charger whine.
Yet if im going down a hill or what not in third and just back peddaling off the gas, and then i push in the clutch it stops. It doesnt whine just sitting there or in netral or any thing. Also when you put it in 4th gear (obviously when moving im not just saying while sitting there) it stops and doesnt whine either....
So that is my problem if any body knows of any thing or what not could you help me out. Or if you need a little more explination i can do that..
I am going to be changing my oil here soon in the tranny i was going to put in Mobil1 (I belive its fully synthetic) 75w-90. Could some one let me know fast if this is not good and maybe if any one can let me know how much to put in i believe its 1.3 quarts but just to make sure....
