It turned out to be the crank sensor and the fact I had the ews chip still in the ecu.

when you put the ignition in position 1, it goes through a system check to make sure basic things exist first.Leave a comment:

crank position sensors magically go bad when placed in an E30. true story.Leave a comment:

Well, if the crank sensor is bad, then the computer doesn't get a tach signal and doesn't send a signal to turn on the relay.Leave a comment:

No signal at turnon that I can tell, can't hear nor feel anything when I put my hand ontop of the pump. When I jump the relay it runs tho. Just found out tonight that my crank position sensor was bad, so that should help w/ the no fuel while cranking, but still mistified about why no signal on turn on.
James, I'm confused by ur post... It cranks perfect, no fuel tho
Its suposed to turn on for I believe 2 seconds when you turn the car to start.Leave a comment:

Is it supposed to? Are you sure? I finally tested mine while troubleshooting a starting issue and mine doesn't come on briefly when I turn the ignition on. I've heard this before from several people on different forums, but finally read one post here on r3v today that it doesn't actually come on and prime the system. Does anyone know for sure if its supposed to come on for a couple seconds?Leave a comment:

Are you getting power at the fuel pump relay? what about a signal to turn it on?Leave a comment:

Get remote starters and try to jump it.. I forget how they work but I know you put one on the starter and one of something else...Leave a comment:
