where can i find a 80 degree thermo. i think what he did was put a 92 degree thermostat.

he jason do you remember if you gave him the 88 thermostat? maybe he put a 92
never seen a 92c. ive got about a dozen 88c. the degree is stamped on there, so its easy to see which one you have. for the 80c, just call any GOOD bmw parts place. they will have them. or, call the dealer. just double check the stamping, ive seen a couple 88's in 80c boxes. cheers, jason

yea, this is my ex winter beater. i had the 80c in there, ran just above the 1/4 mark. next owner couldnt pass emissions, put the 88c one in there. ive had the 88c ones and they run just a hair above the 1/2 mark.

(on a side note, what was the prognosis? how did he blow the head gasket? never heard the story.)

of the cars ive had, all have gotten the 80c. the m50 seems to be happier in the rich.

    cheers, jason

if he used an e36 temp sensor the needle wouldn't work at all, so he most likely used the e30 temp sensor
