I appreciate the input. Although, Supersprint headers are a considerable amount more than what I will be charging. And there is nothing special about them besides the r&d they put into them. The welds are pretty industry standard and could be accomplished by a slightly above novice tig welder. For the price they are charging I would expect the weld quality of shops like Agtronic Motorsport, Toxic Fab, or Unobtanium.

There has been enough interest in them for me to go ahead with getting this rolling. Quantity of sales is not a concern. I make enough other parts and this is all just supplemental income anyways.

The price is not set in stone whatsoever. I will determine how much I have to charge once I see what I have into materials and time.

I will keep you all posted!

I beg to differ...I imagine that someone (such as myself*) considering an s54 swap is ok with spending more for quality parts. The buy-in price is higher, so custom parts like this will find a more willing market.

And Luke, I definitely believe you are correct. Forums in general. I have an idea for a product that would absolutely blow up on enthusiast forums and could 100% get off the ground and be profitable just from forums like this one.

*But then, I'm also considering an N55 swap, so I just may be all by myself here.

I am close to a shop that does great ceramic coating as well. You can have a ready to install custom exhaust which has been built on a car so you can see how it fits before it ships to you.
That sounds great! as it would save time having a ready exhoust.

I'd be down for a combo pack on everything depending on price, etc.

Guys with an E30 that likely cost $1500-5000 would be spending nearly all of most of the value of the CAR for a header. I don't see your market being too large.

Take an ebay header for $100, modify it yourself or the exhaust shop to fit ~$75-100, ceramic coat it $150. Way cheaper and the option I would see most people going.

    Just giving an honest opinion.
    I appreciate everyones opinions.

I know people that have shelled out $2500 plus for a k______k____ (fill in the blanks) header that didn't fit with welds that I wouldnt have let anyone but the scrap bin see. For me to invest my time in doing it Im going to need to charge over $1000.

This is a sideline business for me, so Im never going to make money if I lower the price and up the quantity, because that just won't happen. I don't think $1000 plus for a quality designed and built header is un-realistic. We will see what I can do on the price once I build the initial one.

I'd consider that if it came with the down pipe cat and ran straight to the back with flanged back to bolt up any exhoust muffler. basically everything exept the c-back.

If not people are looking at 2k+ to 3K for an exhoust complete which I dont see my self spending for an exhoust.

    ^Awesome.

That's why I was asking, I assumed there would be a better price point for those that came to you as a one stop shop. I'd love to do this sometime this winter, if my shop takes off, you will surely have my $$$$'s. I'm
