Hey guys, I’m Terrence and new to the bmw world. I’ve worked on them before but never owned one. Just picked up a fairly clean 91 5speed sedan. Got it for $2200, which I felt was a rather good price knowing what they’ve been going for. I’m still not sure how the old timer I bought it from had it inspected because every strut is blown out and the cv boots are torn. That being said I’m already $3k in parts... the wife... not so happy.
So far I’ve put about 1000 miles on it and replaced the coil, plugs, wires, cap and rotor, lower control arm bushings, intake tube, main relay and fuse cover.
Things that still need done..
Fuel tank
Fuel pump
Fuel filter
Koni adjustable (back ordered)
H&R springs
Strut mounts
Shock mounts
Rear trailing arm bushings
Sway bar bushings front and rear
Both front ball joints
Both front inner cv boots
Motor mount
Trans mount
Diff bushing
Shifter rebuild
Driver inner door handle and cover
Exhaust
Radiator
Hoses
Thermostat
Timing belt and tensioner
Water pump
And I think that’s all. I think.
I absolutely love the car. Wouldn’t trade it for anything. Really looking forward to getting everything done. I can not wait to see how much of a difference it rides with the new suspension.
Once I figure out exactly how to upload a proper photo I’ll do that. Just figured I’d introduce myself and tell you guys about the car.
