    Rolling, pulling cutting questions

    Hey guys,

I have an 89' 325i. I will have right around 500whp when it is all said and done and I am trying to prepare myself for traction issues. My body is perfect but needs a new paint job so.... this spring she will be getting new paint.

I picked up a set of 17x8 Apex RC reps but the 8" width limits me on tire size. My wife is sending two of the four to get widened at weldcraftwheels in MI. He is going to add 1-1.5" to the 8" wheels. Since the wheels are ET 25 I should be able to run a small spacer and retain the proper strut and control arm clearance. I am trying to fit a 255/40/17 star spec or a 275/40/17 drag radial under her.

That said, I know I have to do some serious rolling, pulling and maybe even cutting. I am seriously considering cutting the entire arch, pulling it out 1-1.5" and doing the necesary welding/body work. I want it to look similar to stock with slightly wider wheel rear wells. I have seen some pictures of this in the past but I would love to see more and hear some of your thoughts and ideas. I do not want to go with M3 fenders or any kind of flair, I just want the stock metal stretch, cut and welded to clear the larger tires.

Please post opinions and pictures if you have them.

    Thanks!
