    Color change Q

I am currnently considering buying an unfinished project as a shell for my own purposes. The car belonged to Miller performance at one time (i.e. WAR chip/Miller MAF) It is painted bright as fuck yellow which I hate, however the current seller is claiming it was a $7000 paint job so I am hoping it had all the rust and bodywork dealt with.

The only two true colors for an e30 in my mind aren't in fact colors they are tones. I mean Black DS black to be exact and Alpine II white, although I do kind of like Alpine III.

I don't know much about painting but I'm thinking that painting white over yellow is going to be hard so is DS black the easiest way to cover yellow?

I know that black will show any imperfections and is the hardest color to pull off because of that but I'm not discouraged.

Or am I totally out to lunch and a coat of primer is all that's needed to wipe the color yellow from the face of the earth?

primer. good paint is only good because of good preparation.

Totally. That is the main reason I am interested in this car, if the bodywork is good it is what I'm looking for.
