Aha okay. So this is where I'm realizing I wasn't clear. The valence has fallen off my car, the big, low is/es valence. I do not want it back on, instead I want to achieve the effect of the first picture posted on this thread, of a small, high clearance black trim piece below the bumper, with fog lights that sit independently (that do not appear to be housed within the valence).

To my understanding up to this point, none of the parts offered do exactly this.

Old magazine pic, this is the stock look I want:

Actually your are loud and clear. But it's your airdam fell off, some call it a valance though. Your car should still have the metal valance on it. Since that is what the eS airdam was attached to. I doubt it was ripped off to cause then you'll be missing a piece below the grill cause it's all one piece. So all you need is the lip like stated before on the black car with gold wheels. The magazine article you posted up is a 84 or 85 car. That lip will not work. If you are dead set on the early setup with the brake ducts. Then you'll need the lip, valance, metal piece below the grill cause those parts are two piece unlike the one piece on the 86-87 cars and the inner fender liners with the brake ducts.

For your car, All you need is the 86-87 lip. Just look up stock 86-87 325e and yours will look just like them. It's pretty simple on what you need. Just over thinking and explaining what you need is what's going on here.

I finally got a pic of my cars front end uploaded, I think that will clarify a lot. Just want to confirm that what you just said is actually appropriate to the current state (I suspect it isn't). Thank you again for all you help man!

He is correct. Buy the lip. Be happy.

You just need the lip, plus the hardware to install it. The factory metal valance is still on your car and its the correct 86-87 valance.

These are the lips that will bolt right on that valance. I'm only listing stock ones cause aftermarket ones will probably confuse you more. You can have your choice of four different ones, one without oil cooler cutout, one with oil cooer cutout, and one that is sporty with oil cooler cut out and one without cutout.

            With cutout
            part #51711933510

            Without cutout
            part#51711933402

            Sport one with oil-cooler cutout
            part# 51711943868

            Sport one without cutout
            part# 51711943867

And with all these lips you'll need the hardware to install it up to your valance. part numbers are all right here for them, http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=51_0583

Here's pictures of the lips on the cars

              With cutout

              Without cutout,

This is the only picture I can find of the sport lip on a US model e30 with the big aluminum bumpers.

Alright boys, we can finally close this up. Jason especially, thank you so much for all the help.

All those that you sent will definitely match, I can see where the screw holes match and everything. Thanks again everyone.
