Yea those are fine. I also have the inline sander, which is fantastic for large straight pieces.
They use a LOT of air...I hope you have a big compressor..I have a 60 gal with 135psi, and it eats up pretty quick

I know a guy who took his old Ford truck to Maaco in Canada, we had heard they were a different outfit entirely up there, and in a really good way. The trick is to strip your car at home, pick a dry day to get your car painted, leave just enough stuff on your car to not get pulled over on the ride up.
Make the appointment for morning, show up waaaaaay early, bring boxes, and unbolt the remainder of stuff in the parking lot.
Then do your final wipedown with solvent. Do what ever masking you need, then be done just in time for your appointment.
My buddy didn't even bring his own paint, but he was acrylic enamel, so it was tough paint - still looks great and it's been ~3 years. I mean really nice too - he was a former bodyman, so he spent a week of evenings block sanding and body buttering it, and just spot primering as he went.
The truck is gloss black, and he colorsanded himself after 2 days. The end result looks like a $4K paint job - really.Leave a comment:

I have always heard that most Macco's have good painters, but they are not paid well and they use cheap paint. So if you do your own prep and give them your paint, you will end up with a decent paint job. Otherwise, you're wasting your money.Leave a comment:

Maaco is a no no.
Try any body shop, prep the air dam yourself.
Shit Fedex the stuff to me and I will do it all.
$325 + return shipping
The best base/ clear paint job will be exponentially better than the rattle can Maaco uses, and not cost much, if any, more. [for such a small job!]Leave a comment:

I Would use a DA with 50 grit on it to take it down to rubber...then prep and paint like normal with a good flex agentLeave a comment:

Wouldn't that help with the process? I am probably just going to start sanding with 80 grit with most materials so maybe I will get started this weekend.Leave a comment:
