That is all.
BDSax, an estimate of $1500 for an accident like that sounds pretty standard.
If a body shop uses new OE parts, that is cheap. If they're using used parts, $1500 is expensive.Leave a comment:

wow, my grandfather was rearended on friday and the rear section looks like that, needs new lights, bumper, and lower valence. insurance guy came out snd said it would be $1500 fix fix everything, i think he is full of shit.Leave a comment:

and here are a few pics of how it looks now. I feel so good for saving an E30s life, and with lotsa parts from my old M tech I red rocket.
I got lazy, and didnt take any pics in the middle- since it seemed not too many were interested in the whole thing.
But I can say one thing, I replaced the whole rear section(not using wood screws cough, cough) and it really wasnt that hard.

and in this picture, you can see the generous donors!

so, a little update, since this project is finished, and I didnt keep up with this thread.
I am pretty proud to say i did all the work with a friend in my yard- except the painting- that I also did was sprayed in a booth.
so here is a section of the front core support you can see.

found a bit of rust, so I welded it up. the chassis is garbage on this car, but it is the free ticket to bring lotsa cool parts back to the U.S.- since it was a U.S. spec Diving Board eta when it started its life.

A new big project.
So, I was offered a very nice 1986 325i Vert in exchange for some work on a car that I know very well. So, I decided to take him up on the offer, but gave the vert. to my friend who helped during the whole process of my M3 respray.-- he is also going to be doing a ton of the work on this too.
so, the car was in an accident, and did a bunch of nice damage. It really totalled out the car, and it isnt worth the work we are doing IN MOST INSTANCES!!! BUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT,
The car is a U.S. specs car in Germany, and there have been a ton of mods done on the car, and he would like to bring it back to the U.S. one day, and swap bodies there.
so, on to the pics:

the strut is bent, and I havent even got around to looking what else suspension wise is also....... but I do have all the parts no matter how bad it could be.

the front core support was bent up really bad, I cut that corner out, and replaced it already.

and the worst of it all. The car spun around, and hit a pole right in the middle.

So, we started to cut out he rear section.
more to come tomorrow.Tags: None
