Plastic bumper question?? using aluminum bumper as rebar

Why would you want to do that? The aluminum bumpers are heavy as shit, the rebar inside the plastics weighs at least a few pounds less.

becuase i found a set of plastic shells locally for $80.

curious if it will fit.

beats the typical $300-350 Canadian for a pair.

no, aluminum bumpers, even tucked in are digger than plastics.

so you have tried to slip the plastic cover over the aluminum?

or are you just saying the aluminum sticks out to far? i can modify it to sit further back if i need but i was just wondering if the actual plastic shell is able to go over the aluminum shell (thickness of the aluminum bumper)

i was wondering if i could use the original aluminum bumpers (shocks pushed in) and use the plastic bumper as a cover?

has anyone tried this?

i might need to cut out the aluminum bumper around the turn signals, but other than that has anyone tried slipping a plastic cover over the original aluminum bumpers?

of course removing the side farings and the rubber bumper trim..
