Hey, I'm looking to start the restoration of the body of my '84 323i Euro. It's been an Illinois car for years, so it has a decent amount of surface rust (but only one spot has rusted through and will need new sheet metal, if I've evaluated properly).
I'm not looking to make this a show car, by any means, but it is in great mechanical/electrical shape, only has 120k miles, and is rare enough that I think I want to try to rescue the body so it can be a nice looking daily driver for the next 5-10 years.
To the point: I am looking for a reputable body shop within an hour or so of Chicago (I'm in Oak Park, zip 60302). I don't mind a place that's a complete dive, or a place that will take a long time on it, if I can save some money but still end up with a nice looking and long lasting result.
