I fit fine in E30 sports, but mine were destroyed, so I got some E36 sports. I'm a 32-33 waist, and I have room to move around in them, but they are extremely comfortable. Even though they sit on 7/16" brackets, I sit maybe a 1/2" higher than in an E30 sport seat (1/2" lower than an E30 comfort), thereby leaving me ample headroom.

I would highly recommend this swap to anyone needing more space. I will try to take some pics once I fix my brakes and get the car in the light.

Not too small, but too tall.

Ohhhhh, I thought that you had vaders. I've destroyed my sport seat because I'm too big for e30 sport seats.

How is the e36 seat? I assue too small. I would say sit in cars till you find one that works and make it fit into the e30.

Again, for a daily, so I don't want a fixed back, otherwise I'd think about the Sparco EVO XL, or the Sabelt GT300 XXL.

I have a set of e36m3 sedan power front seats, but they are too tall, even when fully lowered, maybe non power e36 seats are lower?
Hmmm. Have you thought about just sitting in the back seat and extending shift linkage? ;)

    I kid.

The Vaders aren't big enough for you? I'm about in the same boat. I'm smaller then you by a little. What about e46 seats are they not big enough?

If you end up nixing the Vaders let me know. I'd be interested in them.

Try some E46 seats. I find the sport seat in them way too big for me!

Both the E30 and E36 seats are a similar size.

I'm a pretty big guy myself. 6 foot tall and a 38" waist. I ended up purchasing a set of Recaro SRDs out of a type R integra. And I learned a lesson... Japanese people are tiny! I dropped $900 on the set and I was extremely disappointed when I installed the driver's side seat. So, I widened the bolsters to fit me better.

I tore my recaros down to the seat frame. I took a center block and a pencil on the garage floor as a rudimentary measuring device. Place the centerblock up against the bolster rail and make a long pencil mark on the floor. I took a butane torch to the metal bolster rails. There were three spots that I got really hot and then took a pry bar to them. Try to keep them even. Do this and use the center block to draw another line. Use a tape measure to figure out how far you've bent the rail outward. I widened mine by 1.25" on both sides.

What were some severely uncomfortable seats that I barely fit in are now nice and comfortable in my daily driver. I know modifying a brand new set of seats isn't the best thing, but if you can find some used seats that will work it's always an idea. Goodluck with it.

Don't do this, I lucked into a pair of recaro orthopedics and I'm 6'3" 205, 34" waist and they're too skinny for my bottom. Thinking of selling and getting something else.

I have e36 sports (I think they are sports) in mine. Although...I will never have the issue of being too wide for a seat. The way they are installed, I can crush a child's leg if I move it all the way back. I'm only 5'10" and have the seat almost ALL the way forward so I can drive it. Anyone shorter best bring a pillow if they plan on driving. Plan on swapping those out for some Recaro Classic C's I have chillin in the garage

I have the same problem. .. I am a 40-42 waist ... I ended up buying a set of these corbeau that are the XL

They fit but u sacrifice leg room for being wider as it cannot move back a whole lot (it moves but is wedged against the center console.)

There are a lot of seats now in XL form like the sparco XL. ...

Good luck. ... I ended up buying old recaros that are fully adjustable. ..
