Here is a diagram of how to wire these LED's into the circuit board. Haven't done a DIY but this should help quite a bit. I of course can help with all the other steps too if anyone needs help.

Yes it works for interior lights. BTW if you don't have patience... just buy the festoon bulbs. They are far less frustrating :) Here is a few pictars:
Speak English man! I had to google it, you could have said stock bulbs.

It's illegal here, ask me how I know

i bought the white festoon led bulbs, they work AWESOME put them on my plate lights for awhile and it was a huge difference. a bright white light, not a dull yellow crap. dont like the check panel going on either, need to figure out what resistor to use to fix the problem.

I actually haven't done the writeup yet because I came out with a v.2 iteration that I will do a writeup for. It's a much more resilient setup and looks 100% less ghetto. Small vero board (circuit board) with LEDs on it rather than the thin flimsy plastic piece with LEDs in it. I'll get on it. :)

I'd love to see a DIY as well. Those look great. I didn't want to buy the replacement LED bulbs either because as expensive as they can get...I've always, ALWAYS had led flickering and failing on me. Especially when exposed to the exterior like the license plate lights.

Nice work, those look good! I converted to LED license plate lights on my other car but since the bracket was severely rusted and crumbled when I touched it I went with a premade LED strip instead. Might have to try this on the E30 as well!
