for a while i was randomly getting the code screen while driving around and now i don't even get that, i get tons of popping and cracking with no audio output and occasionally i get the code screen to pop up on the radio. There is a popping and cracking noise inside the radio and if the speaker wires are plugged in it can be heard over the speakers. The radio does light up.
The code screen usually doesnt stay on long enough for me to enter the code.
The wiring diagram claims there is a 7amp fuse mounted on the back of the radio, I don't see anything that looks like a fuse.
The chassis ground appears to be ok.
I measured 12v coming into the radio for both power and to memory circuit. There is a second harness coming off the radio with a red and brown wire with connector which isn't attached to anything else, any idea what that might go to? It originates next to a yellow and white wire which I believe are the power to memory.
