well fuses turned out to be alright. and i even double checked the continuity on the outgoing speaker wire. ive got what seems to be, all remote wires connected. not sure what the issue could be, im really tempted to just go out and buy a new hu, but i dont want to blow money on it if it still wont work.

    Ah, more details.

Sounds more and more like a remote wire issue.

alright well ill go ahead and pick that up tomorrow morning and give it a go. do you think it could be anything other than a fuse? i sure hope thats the case, although, only the fronts were being powered by the amp while the rears were still being powered by the stock amp. po did a shitty hack job.

The reason I suggest STRONGLY that you NOT use a meter to test fuses is that the meter is capable of reading "ghost" voltage that even a defective fuse (thanks, China!) can pass.

Seriously, get a testlight. $5.00 at most any auto parts store.

i checked the fuses using the voltmeter and they seemed to work fine i will triple check all wires again then. i wonder if a new hu would solve it.

Travis, how are you testing fuses?

HINT: only a testlight will properly test a fuse...and if you are going by the lights on the amp, they lie too.

TEST with a testlight. Make sure you have power, ground and remote.

You cannot test a fuse with your eyes these days!

Assuming you got all the RCAs back in the right spots.

Assuming you didn't do something else.

Go test all 3 power wires on the amp, something is wrong.

How about some pics of this mess we are dealing with?
well i checked for continuity of the incoming and outgoing wires. so its definitely making it the speakers. fuse on the amp looks fine, amp turns on fine. could it possibly be a fried amp? not sure how that would have happened though. i will go take some pics right now if i can find my camera.

eh my bad. i was rushed. anyways. ive got a pioneer deh-p9200r. everything worked great before i decided to swap in a different dash. i unplugged all the wiring and taped the stuff i need together so i wouldnt lose it. the po ran the fronts and rears through an amplifier. so most of the stuff is already hardwired. my subwoofers work fine, but theres absolutely no noise or static coming from speakers. not sure what the problem is. as i stated above, i did do a continuity as well as a voltage test on all wires. so not sure if i lost a wire or what.
