Oh yeah, this is the next product. Gonna look more like this:

Plexiglas will be in tomorrow, so we'll clean the car up and pop the window in and take a bunch of fully finished pictures then.

Here are a few photos of the finished late body amp rack! The lights on the top will light your amp and illuminate your trunk. This will fit virtually any amp on the market, and the wires run out the left side. Of course, there will be a window on the front, but we wanted to make sure everything fits right before installing the Plexiglas.

This looks even better in person, especially with a trunk kit.

Curt, the early model trunks have different shape inner trunk liners...we are talking about an inch here, a half inch there...but it looks shitty in an early. Of course, the early model rack will fit perfectly...but won't fit at all in a late model. The late trunk is slightly narrower in a few spots.

How this works is the amp rack has a 1/4" back plate, which will be covered in vinyl (black is default, dozens of colors/fabric choices available) so after you run your wires into the rack, simply screw the amp in place, through the amp rack and into the box.

This means that the window is removable. It will be simple 1/4" plexi, and easily replaceable. It will be a simple press fit, so you will put it in after the amp install is all finished.

I am making holes on each side for multiple wiring configurations. The fans are going to be on the bottom, and should provide enough cooling for just about anything. The top of the rack, behind the cover panel, is open except for a couple of braces.

This thing should be super simple and very classy. The LED strips are going to have enough wire to allow connection to the trunk switch, so running it into the trunk lid should be pretty simple, while the fans will be pre-wired to a relay that will turn them on when your system is powered up.

Not sure how much you get LED's for, but this place is cheap:

Wide range of the hottest LED lights, 12 volt, flexible strips, home lighting: High Quality Products ✓ Best Customer Service ✓ Fast Shipping ✓

Also, is the amp rack separate from the box itself? Or is it all one piece?

When put into perspective like that.. Thats a great price ( and im sure looks and sounds ) that blows away tons of other setups.! Cant wait to see this done.

BTW, am hoping to be able to ship these for about $150, trunk carpet "kit" being a template and enough carpet to do the floor should be about $50...so if you wanted all black trunk you would need to spray all your existing panels with black vinyl paint, grab a 1/2 sheet of 1/4" masonite or MDF and a can of spray glue.

So, lets take a second and figure this out. We have $200ish for the box, $200ish for trunk kit, a couple cans of paint and glue, a $140 5 channel amp and a $34 woofer...world class sound AND looks for well under $750.

No local shop can even come close to that price. I bet they would flip if they saw it, even more if they heard it!

Thanks, bud! I have got to get the final stuff figured out for the fans and the lighting.

Anyone think the lights should be other than white? I have a 30" strip of about 5K white LEDs that fit and are fairly cheap...

Nick, if you have a 10" box and it is in a late model E30, it fits.

The trunk floor kit is optional.

As I said above, the rack does NOT fit early cars, but we will be making one that does.

If you have a 12", we will be making one that fits that, too...as well as the E34, the E36, the E46...this design of rack is going to be something we produce for all applications, sooner or later.

I wish this was around before I got one of your earlier boxes. I really love the look of my current install but would really like to upgrade to this.
