i Will, i just don't understand thats all! I'm like the "noob" of the "noobs"
my step dad knows how to install stereos as it was a huge hobby of his when he was my age. So hopefully he'll know, but I cant find an easy way to peel back the trunk liner to get to the antenna. I guess I'll just do taht when i go to install my sub(won't be for at least a few weeks)
anyway of keeping atenna on while having aux playing?

Run a new wire to your amp is the logical solution. Especially if the deck has a seperate amp remote wire.
You need to run RCAs anyway, why not do it at the same time?

How do you plan to turn the amp on? If you need to use the antenna power as your remote turn-on for the amps, your best bet is to either disconnect the antenna at the antenna, or install a switch after the amps.Leave a comment:

okay so I just went out and bought a sub and amp system. its not hte best quality but it will do what i need it to do..OK, first, pull your deck. Look and see if you have a blue with a white stripe.
That wire is your dedicated power amp turn on.
IF you are still using the stock amp, you will need to leave that blue wire connected to turn the amp on, so simply pull the trunk liner down and unplug your antenna.
When you do your aftermarket sub/amp/whatever, you will use the blue/white or the blue, (depending on what your deck has) to turn them on.
Oh yeah...most Kenwonts...er.....Kenwoods have that blue/white wire. Most aftermarket decks these days do, except Pioneer.

I got an 12" Infinity sub(1250W), bassworkz sealed box, and a Rockford Fosgate P200-2 amp. So is it still okay if i disconnect the antenna?Leave a comment:

panasonic
I just did my gf's the antenna signal has it own output on the harness as well, so it only turn on when stereo is on... If your HU doesnt do it, then like john say, wire a switch.Leave a comment:

every model? I already have a kenwood one though. Do you think I should actually switch?Leave a comment:

Alpine has a dedicated output just for power antenna's. This output is only energized when you are using the tuner portion of the head unit. Anything else and the antenna stays down.Leave a comment:

Pull the deck out and cut the blue wire, or put a switch inline. Unless you are using the antenna wire as the remote turn-on wire for amps, at which point you'll have to wire the switch in after it turns on your amps.Leave a comment:
