From the plumbing section at HD get the 1/2" t and a 3/4' hose connection, 1 1/2" skinny bolt, Get rid of all that iron used to lift the top and make a simple latch to hold down the lid. I had to tie the lid to the garage door to hold it up, than use a stick to hold the top --- dude - its frustrating.
Now I need to fine tune the catches / latches to engage - . This does hold the lid down very tight and saves 50 pounds.
