Aftermarket top with zip in rear window?

As I think about this the logistics becomes even more challenging. I replaced the zip in window in my genuine bmw top with one from emiata, who happens to be local. The goal on installation is to insure the ripples are not diagonal and if they are you need to shift the zipper a tooth or 2 in either direction. Once you get that, letting it bake in the sun for a week or 2 shrinks it til the ripples are gone.
Leaving it folded brings back the ripples but they don't last long.
Dilemma is....even if you do find the other half of the zipper, seems to me it has to be positioned and tensioned precisely right to stay flat after it's "baked". How you accomplish that is the magic sauceLeave a comment:

Problem in trying to modify a top to take a sew in window it's that you need to find the other half of the zipper to attach to the topLeave a comment:

You might be able to find a sew in zippable back window and have it sewn into a new top? I was going down that route, ended up finding a buyer for my vert before I could dig further into it.Leave a comment:

I called Robbins and EZ ON, neither makes nor are they willing to make a zipper window e30 top.
I could not find other manufacturers on the web offering one. Next step is to check on $$$$ OEM BMW offerings.
Has anyone else found any other options? Thank you.

Has anyone reached out to the aftermarket suppliers to see if they will do a zip in window top for additional $$?Leave a comment:

Gahh! Just checked their site, and all of their windows were sewn in too. This is starting to get annoying. Thank you for the suggestion, Streich...Leave a comment:
