Cabrio Tonneau & Top Hinge Strut Sale !

Jeff, this explains a lot. Both why my top is so hard to put up/down, but also why I have 2 gas struts (and a lot of broken plastic pieces) just sitting unused in my top hinge area.
Wish I had known this was a thing earlier... hopefully someone is able to 3d print these. :(
I also need to install the manual tonneau strut bracket. My top was converted to manual but they did not install the bracket to install the strut on. I have to hold the tonneau and raise/lower the top at the same time, with no assistance from struts on either one. lol Fortunately I am 6'8" and have long arms so it's not too big an issue.Leave a comment:

Thank you Jeff! I’ll let you know what I learn. Seems like 3D printing could work for the sleeves if I can’t source them.Leave a comment:

It's the same parts for all e30 tops, manual or electric and I have no plans at this point of making any more of them.Hi Jeff -
Do e30 power and manual tops use the same soft top gas struts / gas pressurized springs?
I have a ‘92 cabrio and I’m getting ready to replace my power top. RealOEM shows gas pressurized springs and sleeves as part of the top assembly, parts #3 and #4 on the diagram here:
https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=54_0146
The part numbers are 54311943751 and 54311943752.
Since you’re not selling the item, I searched the net and found a site with the part listed, but it says that the gas struts are for manual tops only.
What is correct, please? Thanks!
Also, please let me know if you are working on importing more soft top gas struts. I’d rather buy from you if you can provide them.
Thank you!
I'd be interested to know if you (or anyone else) actually receives the sleeves as they were NLA after I cleaned out BMWLeave a comment:

This is a tough one. I had these custom made and the lead time was 3 months. I was determined to include the plastic sleeves for a turn key swap since IME many of the sleeves are either broken or warped. When I ordered all those sleeves from BMW my parts guy got a call from Germany asking if he had made a mistake as they did not have that many anywhere (I think there 11 in NA at the time) lol.
They shipped 2\3 of my order right away then made more which, fortunately arrived right when the struts did....but unfortunately at a higher price (which I absorbed). Today, I dont even know if/when I can get them and what they would cost. If I sell struts without them Im going to have customers who may not be able to install them which a makes for unhappy people and b) hurts sales.
Throw in volatile exchange rates and the potential for tariffs and it becomes a roll of the dice.
Given the amount of time it took to sell these off and the fact that putting tops up and down is seasonal, the best I can do is look at this again towards year end with a view to possibly doing a run to be available in the spring.
I do however, have deck lid struts on hand and seat shocks "out for delivery"Leave a comment:

I know you said you won’t be getting anymore of these, but... any chance you changed your mind??
