Excellent, thank you very much! I kept the old piece so I can use it as a template. What's the best way to attach? Spray adhesive or tape?

I replaced mine last year. Ended up buying this off ebay. Got color charcoal, which was a bit darker than the original material. One of the other grays might match better.
Purchased 1 foot length, which was enough to do the job.

I have some outdoor carpet that seems to very closely resemble the liner and it should be dirt cheap

I thought this would be easy to find on realoem. But it wasn't!!! I'll look some more later.

Folding Top Compartment Fabric
I have a ’92 E30 318i Cabrio. Inside the folding top compartment was installed a felt-like liner double-sided taped onto the front and bottom wall (see attached photos). Years ago the adhesive along the edges of the tape were becoming exposed with age and had been sticking to the rear window. I removed the gluey mess and tossed the liner in 2011. Since the years have passed the rear window is slowly becoming damaged from abrasion and/or paint transfer against the inside of the compartment while stowed.
A few years ago I ordered an OE replacement liner online somewhere, instead mistakenly ordered a trunk liner that covers the folding compartment from inside the trunk (#15 in attached parts diagram). I’ve been searching online parts diagrams and cannot find the proper felt-like liner for the folding top compartment. Can someone help me find the liner? I really appreciate it!Tags: None
