Seat Rail - Vert Specific?

Last season, I replaced my rusty seat rails with some nicer used ones that I bought off the forums. After re-installing the seats I could swear that the seat does not move back as far as prior to switching.

I was under the impression that the seat rails were universal but does anyone know if they were specific for the car type (vert, coupe, sedan)?

Any help would be appreciated.
