Sorry my english is not so well that I understand what this is EXACTLY about.

So the OP was drilling through the frontbumper shocks.
Why do you drill the shocks?
To release them from the car, are they not screwed with the car body?
As the drilling was deep enough, the oil and gas came out explosion like / wise?

He did breath that gas or oil combination and got ill of it.

    Hope you can help me.

This is backwards...*all* cabrios are late bodies. The bumpers and tails changed in '90 but the body did not. They all have lower rear arches. Pre-90 cabrios have metal bumpers, post-90 have plastic bumpers with the bugly tails. This is why plastic bumpers are direct bolt-ons for pre-facelift cabrios.
Das ist nicht nur nicht richtig, es ist nicht einmal falsch!

He drilled a hole in the side of the bumper shock body to let the pressure out. that allows him to push the bumper in tighter to the car body so they do not stick out so far. they call it "tucking"

It is completely worth it. It is amazing how appealing a set of tucked DB's can be. I honestly think I will be putting on a plastic rear but leaving my tucked DB front with the early IS valance (when I find one). Nice and flush

place bumper shock in a small box,
put on mask and saftery glasses

                drill through the box
all mess is contained in a box

this is the biggest problem of owning a vert, figuring out early/late crap for it.

i heard that e30m3 front fenders are a direct bolt on for verts too...

no they are not. Vert rocker panels are different than coupe rocker panels..

Why don't you guys just ease the car into a wall, and in reverse? That tucks it too...
