What sort of street tyres would put down 400whp in 2nd or 3rd gear?

    235/40/17 semi slicks?

Ditch all the weight you can and really, really focus on the rear suspension and I think it's possible, even with ~350 horsepower.

Wheel hop and broken parts will be your biggest issues IMO.

All in the wheel offset/height I'd imagine.

For strong rear end adapt e34 rear, you will be needing 210mm diff anyway.

Don't worry about CR. The m20b25 only has 8.8:1, seta has 8.5:1 and you will be at 8.4:1 with an eta/i hybrid. If anything the compression in an m20 should be raised, not lowered. I have had great success in boosting cars with as much as 9.7:1. You will make more power in boost, and more importantly, more power in low boost.

The stock cast crank is fine. People have been making 500hp on them for a long time now.
