I simply cut the "T" hose that connects to the original M20 late model reservoir down a few inches so that it has a straight shot towards the reservoir outlet on the M42 radiator. Then I used a 1" (memory may be failing me on that size) ID straight piece of hose (~6-9" length) off the M42 reservoir outlet which connects to the cut "T" hose. You need a 1" to 3/4" reducer (or whatever the sizes are) to connect the two hoses. This is because the OE hoses flare up to a larger diameter at the connection point and generic heater hose is a constant diameter all the way through.

Early model lower hose. You just need to shorten it. I'll do a nice write up when I install one in the another early model chasis pretty soon.

bout to press order on a slew of parts from blunt tech to do this on my eta. im switching to the late model water pump and will probably just modifty the m20 hose like White325is did for the upper one. Any other things need replacing on an early car?

do the m42 radiators fit early model cars?

    anyone?

I wonder if you could relocate the drain and cut off the old one. I originally would have just shortened it but the plug on this thing is strange

I'm still holding out hope that a m30 mounted far enough back without the mechanical fan will allow a m42 rad or some other integrated overflow tank radiator./

The old style radiator sits on the bottom of the core support on a few tabs. newerstyle have mounts that come out from the frame or core about half way up the radiator. How have you guys with older cars been doing it?
Take the rubber mounts off and cut out a chunk so you can center it. Also make sure you have a good tranny stop cause the pulley will eat in to the drain plug.
