Sure. Pull the motor and I'm all over it.

If I had the time I would, but I barely have enough time to get my cabrio buttoned up for the show.

Dude, the 2 pics I posted are of a 10 year old belt with 67,000 miles on it when it failed. Isn't that exactly the info you wanted??

    No real signs of cracking...
your pics didnt show up for me, I was thinking there was something wrong there.

    direct link?

also, yeah - I've gotten a few useful replies in here so whats going to happen in the next month will happen and I'll just hope for the best.

its all good if you don't have a direct link, It wont change the fact I cant get to it soon anyway.

pretty much any other posts will be completely useless at this point. on this site anyway, I'm off to e30tech.

Change a motor in 4 hours but you can't do a timing belt? Right. Fuck off you lint-sucking necrophile, you are more full of shit then a Taco Bell commode. Buy a Bentley manual and ACTUALLY READ it and just change the fucking thing. Seriously kid, it's not that hard...
    thanks!

I have the FSM, I have done my E30s belts a few times. I can change a motor in 4 hours (as long as we're talking the same type of M20) I can change a timing belt and have and never claimed I couldnt, just dont have time this work month.

you fit right in on the R3V, this is the most hostile form on the net and it's interesting because of that -- I certainly don't take offense because you can't express yourself correctly.

also glad you, like most of the other posters didn't bother to understand the question in the OP.

#1. Here is your timing belt. #2. Here is your timing belt on drugs, after it pops.

Anyone care to guess the age & mileage? I'll post that info later.

You are asking a completely retarded question - how can you not see this? One person comparing a shoddy, tiny pic of one tiny part of a timing belt is useless when they don't know how long its been on the car, how the engine has been treated and how it compares with other M20s in vastly different cars in vastly different parts of the world.

You could get someone stating it is fine to reuse, going by that pic, which might well be true. However, the belt could crack and snap within the next 200km. I'm sure you'd then come back on here, spraying fire out your cock because R3v gave you bad adivce. If you know R3v and the way it operates, you should also know timing belts - no matter which manufacturer's engine they're put on - are a non-servicable item. Replace it, you gypsy tip rat.

I eagerly await your long-winded, overly wordy reply that I'll ignore.
I didn't read your whole block of text, the representative portion of the belt is good enough for opinions apparently, so its not unreasonable for someone to have an opinion other than 'replace it'. the 2 (i think) other responses were much more helpful.

also, this isn't the only thing, I see R3Vers rip new members even harder for legitimate questions. the 2.7i/starting issues/idle issue questions I expect flaming.

and rofl @ fredk's how old does it look post. hahahahahha
I'm curious about how well used the belt was. if it was genuinely scary worn, then I would attempt to change it over a work night in the garage, but confirming that it is good enough for another 50 miles/1 month/25 2 mile trips was the alterior goal of the question.
