    I think all early production M20 engines used a 128 tooth belt, which was superseded by the 127 tooth belt and associated tensioner. My recollection is that you can switch from the early belt to the later if you change the tensioner to match.

    In australia we have two types. 128 teeth for pre 1987 and 127 teeth after 87.

    any ideas what m20 timing belt I need for a M20b20 320i coupe.

    I think its a 127 but not sure
